ACT artists Michael Bailey (director / musician), David Finnigan (performer / writer), and Jack Lloyd (performer / digital video artist) have worked as a theatre company since 2001, producing theatre works by Absurdist writers such as Harold Pinter and Boris Vian alongside original works by company members.
In 2006, David, Jack and Michael formed Boho to focus on a specific performance stylistic: original works combining ideas and concepts from Game Theory, Network Theory and Complex Systems science with tools and techniques from narrative performance, lo- and hi-fi media art, live music and interactive theatre.
The three artists possess a diverse range of expertise, including Bachelors degrees from the Australian National University in English, Digital Arts, Music (performance) and Science. As well as using techniques and approaches from different artforms, Boho seeks to close the larger interdisciplinary divide between 'the two cultures'; the arts and the sciences.
